Military Service

Dr. Ali R. Tayyeb is a United States Navy Veteran, having served as a Fleet Marine Force Corpsman with Naval Medical Center San Diego, 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion - 1st Marine Division, and 3rd Surveillance Reconnaissance Intelligence Group, 4th Marine Regiment, & Headquarters Battalion 3rd Marine Division. 

His deployments include operations with the 13th Marine Expeditionary Force, joint operations with multiple allied nations, and humanitarian missions including the search and recovery of Korean Airliner 801 in Guam.

Dr. Tayyeb was one of the two sailors who piloted and implemented the rollout of the Fleet Marine Force Warfare Specialist device in the Navy and, consequently, one of the first to be awarded the FMF device and received the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal for his efforts. Dr. Tayyeb's military awards include the following:
