Dr. Sarah Manacek is a registered nurse with a clinical background in acute care and specialty surgery at the University of Vermont Medical Center. She has experience teaching a variety of courses in the undergraduate nursing curriculum and working as a simulation educator. Dr. Manacek is passionate about leveraging technology to promote connection, diversity, and creativity in the process of learning.
Dr. Manacek’s research interests center on leveraging technology to enhance the accessibility of nursing education and how technology impacts healthcare delivery. In 2019, she was recognized as an Apple Distinguished Educator for her work integrating iPads in simulation and in the classroom. She presents nationally on educational technology integration and served as a faculty advisor and facilitator for the Graduate Nursing Student Academy Digital Innovators Program through the American Association of Colleges of Nursing. Dr. Manacek is professionally affiliated with Sigma Theta Tau International, the Society of Simulation in Healthcare, the National League for Nursing, and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing.
